A piece of writing
The yellow ball of fire changed to hues of orange and blue.It merged with the sky, like juice-mix dissolving in a glass of water. The clouds were a bright neon peach as though they blushed at the warm touch of the sun some, fluffing around in the colourful sky. The last specks of light danced on the calm sea shore. As the sun closed its eyes the trees turned to shadows of the night. You can hear the soft splash of waves brushing against the shore. The leaves of the trees rustling as the cool wind blows away the warmth of the day. If you listen closely you will hear the faint sound of chirping crickets. The sound of laughter seems to have faded with the bright colours. There is a perplexing scent that lingers in the chilling air, almost like a forest there is a damp soil and old fallen leaves. Then there are the trees, each with its unique smell some are sweet while others smell like aged wood, it is oddly calming. As the mystical sunset sets before you,you take a deep breath and the feeling of the fresh air traveling to your lungs rejuvenates you.The enchanting colours, impenetrable scents, heart warming sounds, makes a flush of content rush through you.

Grandparent's House
Since it was grandparent's day on Friday this week, we had to write a memory poem on visiting their house, so here is mine.
Explanation
This week we have done a little recap on writing an explanation, so this is mine on smart people
What makes Smart People Smart?
Have you ever wondered why Einstein was such an amazing mathematician and physicist? But why is it no-one could amount to his IQ or come up with the theories that change the world?. Was he smarter than the average person, because the mass of his brain was low or was it, because he had a high amount of glial cells in his brain?Let’s dissect why is it that the inventors, artists and scientists are ranked as smart. Why exactly are they smart?. A fact about smartness is that the person has the ability to put ideas together, and create solutions to problems, they are able to focus, concentrate, and communicate on all levels.
There are many ways of interpreting the word smart for example you may be book smart as in academics or street smart as in you know your way around the world. Both are valuable in life and we only tend to become street smart later on in life. Now of course these aren’t the only smarts. If we were to break down the meaning and the word itself smart we would get tons of millions of realms explaining smart.I can support this by saying if you were to search “what makes smart people smart” quite a number people come up, but they do not all share the same sort of smart. For now I’m going to be explaining how people who excel in literature and mathematics are seen as smart, or what traits they have acquired, that makes them the way they are.
Many people believe that smartness is not necessarily something you obtain, but instead something you're just born with, of course this is not true.Although intelligence could be inherited, much like height and eye colour. Although there are certain traits which smart people tend to have. One of them being that they are aware of how much they are not knowledgeable about. Being smart is something that’s grown and cultivated, often by being curious enough to seek out new information and by recognising what you don’t already know.Smart people are constantly questioning and curious about topics and things around them, they are not afraid to be wrong and crave more knowledge. They continuously think out of the box or not just accept what other people tell them.
Smart people often make connections that seem obvious to them, but perplexing to others simply because they have developed the skill of “zooming out” to get a better view of the big picture. By this I mean smart people sort of see everyone running around trying to figure out how to get from here to there, while they simply already know how. Many people then question as to how we are able to try and zoom out so that we can see more of a big picture and obtain this intelligence that smart people seem to have. When some more research was done researchers found out that smart people found it easier to see the bigger picture, because they experienced things, now of course this maybe seem confusing as to how these two things are related, but if you think about it if you were to have the same amount of knowledge or experiences of everyone else then you would not learn what it is you're doing wrong, and why is it that you cannot find the way from here to there.
To summarize smart people are different in the sense they accepted that in the beginning they weren’t all that knowledgeable, and their curiosity gobbled at their neurons, so much that they constantly wanted to learn more. Their ability to experience and find out patterns gets them to where they are today. There are many different ways of learning smarts and we were always taught someone who is smart is someone who gets good grades, although this is not true at all. Movie directors and Physicists are both very smart and professional jobs although if you were to put them in each others spots they would be dumb, so I’m just here to remind you that we are all smart, but we all have a different way of presenting it.

Description of the Moa
The Moa is a very peculiar odd looking bird. If I were to describe it to anyone I’d say it has an emu neck, large chicken legs, and a kiwi body that’s basically how a Moa looks to me,being put into perspective. Although of course this is not an accurate description of the Moa and to be honest the Moa is most likely an ancestor of the emu, so technically speaking an emu has a Moa’s neck. If we were to start with the Moa it is a small oval shaped skull, although the skeleton of the Moa shows that the skull looks more similar to a plague mask than an oval, the lower jaw curves a little outwards, giving it an almost bridge-like shape. The neck then makes an almost straight serpent holding the head up and connecting to the oval shaped body. The feet were slim and up straight keeping everything in balance the Moa has three toes on each foot and resembles that of a dinosaur. The Moa has an odd body since it’s legs and necks are tall and slim with it’s head and body are more curved if we were to look at the very beginning of the beak to the end of it’s tail we can see it has a sort of sloppy 90 degree angle going on. I’d assume like the birds that have similar features the Moa has thick long feathers especially by the wings, it is not definite what exactly the colour of the wing was, but it was most likely black, brown or maybe even something colour. Overall the Moa is a unique and interesting bird, and would be really amazing if brought back into the living.

A Day in Lockdown
This piece of writing desrcibes how I would go about my day during during lockdown.
I would wake up to sunlight squeezing itself through the curtains, and flushing out the darkness that still lay in the corners of the room. My alarm would still be ringing in my ears, and I would dread waking up from the toasty warmth of my blankets. Eventually I let my eyes open and I’d stare at the ceiling for a good two minutes, before turning and rolling out onto the floor, I will then stand up and stretch my body out like a piece of taffy being stretched in hard candy, while I let out a loud yawn.
I’d then get on with my day by getting ready for our google meet sessions, it was not the easiest part of the day, considering mom was screaming at her own students on a zoom call, the words, Daniel, Harriet, open your document, writing and lunch break were flown around the room, all the way from 8:15 pm to 3 pm. I’d then hop on our google meet and listen to the pleasant voice of Miss Hines explaining our work for the week. From there I’d sit down and eat my cheese sandwich, and stare out the kitchen window watching the rippled ruffled clouds, huddled together with streaks of sunlight outlining their fluffy bodies.
After I’ve had my breakfast it was time to get on with my work, and once I’ve finished a few pieces of work. I would relax and lay back and let my brain melt into my favourite movies and tv-shows, and then, would realize I should start doing something productive after I watched a frog doing a tik tok dance. My mom would be on her morning tea morning break right around now and would ask me to make some tea for her. I would then reply with “ You know what I’ll make something better. I saw this guy make a chocolate cake in a mug, and I think I could do it”. I was about to give up once I had taken the ingredients considering I haven’t had the best relationship with cooking or baking, but I convinced myself I should at least try. To my surprise it came out quite good, and filled the room with the scent of sweet cocoa powder, my triumph feeling was then instantly killed once I found when it had got to the bottom of the mug, there was still a lump of cocoa powder, flour and sugar unmixed and balled up together
, like a clump of hair.
After that not complete disaster, I decided to do something that is much more similar to my liking of fun, read a book, my favorite that I had read during lockdown was The Island of Beyond, it’s definitely a book I would recommended reading during a rainy day, and when you have a cup of hot chocolate in hand. My sister would be finished with all her meets by this time of day, and urge me to go cycling with her to the beach, every time we went a nostalgic memory would be formed in my mind, from watching the oil-painted sunset turn to bright dotted galaxies from far. We’d come home to mom’s freshly baked biscuits, some cracked like a dried up desert plain, but still melted in your mouth like candy floss. At the end of the day I’d give a relieved sigh, that I’ve been quite productive, and satisfied with my work I’ve done. Before heading to bed I’d look at my wristwatch and contemplate when I will ever be able to wear it to school again. I’d then rest my head on my pillow and dream about telling future generations how I survived through a pandemic, of course I’ll add a few more interesting things such as zombies, apocalypse, and scavenging for food. That was my life during lockdown.

Narrative Writing
This week in T2 ,we had to watch a video and then base our narrative around the video
This is my narrative:
“Hello young lady, the library is about to close, unless you have anything you might want to rent, please escort yourself out”, the librarian stood tall with a strickening figure and pulled face. Isyla stared at her up and down, she did not have the money to rent the book, so she had to make a run for it. “Young lady, please if you need assistance to escort you-”. “ I found a book that I might like, it’s round the back I’ll be right back, then I’ll be out and on my way”. Isyla hurried behind the 20 ft bookshelf, she stuffed the book in a ragged bag and walked around the back, it was then she bolted and ran straight to the misty glass door. “Hello,Hello…?” The librarian had suspicion in her voice, Isyla could hear her footsteps walking round to the back of the shelf, “ You dirty little..”. She had already slipped out,she draped her scarf over her shoulders and tucked her hair into her beanie she was now jogging across the endless grey pavement . She heard the clip clop of the librarian trying to chase after her, the back door open and in an enraged voice, she could hear the stern librarian shout “ I’ll be sure to call the catchers on you, you little scoundrel !”.
Who cares what an old wrinkled faced librarian is gonna do, Isyla whispered under her breath. She had to get away, it was not safe at this time, she never had a watch, but when the library closed everyone else seemed to flee, so she did as well. The air was stale and reeked of pollution as always, but she got the smell of something else lingering , a metallic scent of friction, wheels against a track. The railway was nearby, if she walked there maybe she could hitch a ride, before anything happens. Isyla plugged her earpods into her MP3 player, it was a surprise it, they both hadn’t been broken or died out, it was passed down to her family ever since the year 2013. She looked around at the empty grey sky with dangling stars shaped lights, it was a surreal world never imagined to come to life, floating cities, unknown people controlling the fate of leaving this horrible planet, animals that seemed to change, so much it was impossible to tell if they were truly part of the nature that no longer existed, and worst of all the hierarchy of people determined by the amount of money in their bank. It was the only world she knew, as much as she longed to get out, it wasn’t that easy. She took out the book and stared at it, the title was a Tree of Coins, it was filled with rich families when the separation took place, these were Arkilontins ancestors, this was her only chance if she can somehow prove to whoever that she is part of a rich family, she’ll lead a life that many dream of.
As she reached the station it started to snow, a child stuck out his tongue waiting for a snowflake to land on his palate, his mother gave him a slight slap, everyone knew something was wrong with the snow, there was so much pollution and change in the climate that it was impossible for it to even snow, no-one knew exactly what it was, but it looked like snow, so and it was of the few things that stayed normal. Isyla stared out on the platform full of blank faces, it looked like a murder scene before the crime. She saw a flicker of light in the corner of her eye, she looked down and saw her stone star had a light glow, but then died out, it must be broken she thought no-one here is someone she has seen before, the last time it glowed when she was given to her and when she stood with her mother and father, after the shooting, when she was five it instantly stopped. She felt a lump in her throat preventing tears coming to her eyes, she looked down, and shuffled her feet as her silky long hair brushed against her cheek as if it were the ribbons of a kite, she look straight ahead and let the watery feeling retreat, she did not have time for this and she will get a better life and be happier, soon. She heard the puff of smoke and soft screeching of the shuttle coming to a halt.
The mysterious hooded men and women stepped on the train and let their tickets be bit into by the hole puncher as they walked steadily to their seats. Isyla did not have a ticket, she swiped one from a woman who loosely put it in her coat, she quickly let punch take a number of and then patted the woman on the shoulder “Sorry you’ve dropped this”, she said with a fake innocent smile. The woman turned around, Isyla could not help but stare in horror, the woman's dark circles extended almost to the corner of lips, there was no muscle, her lips almost completely outlined her teeth. Her skin stuck to her cheeks bones as if it;is slowly melting off. The woman snatched the ticket and said thank you with her grey pencil like eyes still on Isyla, it looked like the colour was drained from it and with it her happiness. Isyla looked away frightened that if she did not get out of this horrible planet she would end up emotionless.
Isyla looked away and shuffled to her seat unsteadily, she slumped onto a seat, and stared out the tattered window, the mechanics of the old Watchtower were still spinning, it was useless like many other things, but nobody cared to take it down. While they were rolling up Factory Hill her eyelids felt heavy she stared at the fluffy grey clouds, and the floating debris of the broken cities, her eyes gave up trying, she slid her hand onto the window frame, and felt her hot breath comfort her as she slowly drifted off to sleep. When she woke up she saw the last person get off at Lighthouse Creek, Isyla looked up at the display board of the next destination, it started typing out numbers then abruptly stopped, how odd. The shuttle-like train carried on for another hour, a twisted feeling started to grow the further they went, she hasn’t been this far away before. The train had also started to speed up as well, but she couldn’t see anything from fog that looked like clumps of cotton hiding a lurking shadow, a bright light shone straight ahead until she could see a desert like terrain with streaks of dirt and unusual scraps placed as if they were trees, were road robots, old mailboxes, and other odd things she’s never seen before.
Isyla ran to the front of the train to get a better view of this peculiar place, and where the railway track would lead too. The train was now going at an exceeding rate of speed, the ground was no longer smooth and even it turned into a bumpy track swerving left and right trying to stay on track. Isyla then remembered the rhyme everyone used to tell her, don’t go past Lighthouse creak, for trust us there is nothing there for you to seek, it boils with oil and at the end it might bring you a life of turmoil. It was a rhyme she hated and always played in her head. She knew where the track was headed, Oil Waterfall. There was an aggravating buzzing coming from the pressure meter, before it’s glass cracked and it completely broke down, the bells started to ring uncontrollably and before she knew it, she was flying off of the Waterfall, and into the turmoil that would soon uncover itself. Everything started to smudge into each other like a blurred painting, the train started to crack all over until it was torn apart limb by limb like a chicken for dinner. Isyla rolled herself into a sphere shape, she hoped that if she were to fall she would roll on the ground and the pain will be distributed all over her body, she then unravelled herself into opening her arms and flaring out like a parachute, there was a transitory brightness, it then started to take a mold of a figure. Isyla was surprised that she hadn’t fallen to her death, instead she lightly landed and stumbled a bit before getting her balance. She looked ahead and there lay the glowing figure. It seemed like a girl around her age, but she was different no-one from Earth had a gentle white glow, and no-one ever cried, because everyone had issues they did want. The curious looking girl stared up at Isyla with glossy vibrant white eyes and put her hand over the stone star, Isyla backed away in dismay. The girl stood up, to her full height, she was short and had a seemingly expensive dress on, in a croaky shivering voice she said “Hello my name is Melanie, I’m completely lost and I have no idea where I am, I’ve come with a group of other children from Arkilon, we were allowed to wonder, but I’ve gone to far, have you seen anyone that might seem similar to myself?”. Isyla finally realised why she had an odd glow, all people of Arkilon did. It did not matter though, this girl would be murdered or taken away by the catchers, many people would pay a fair price for someone from Arkilon. Isyla replied in an unfriendly tone “I’m sorry, but I’ve just fallen from a waterfall, I have no idea where your group of little light bulbs are, but there are a few things I know you’re in Oil Waterfall, and you better hide, it isn’t safe”. Melanie stared at this tall slim figure with spidery legs, she had a certain meanness in her voice, as well as a rugged type of accent. “Please help me find them, you seem to know where places are, and I’ll give you some money for helping me”.
Isyla looked her up and down, she did not have time for a crybaby teenager who was lost, but she was from Arkilon and if she helped her maybe they’d take her to Arkilon on their way back in compensation for helping a useless rich princess who could not find her way on a dull lit road.” Fine, I’ll help you, but I do not want money. I care for something more valuable but no matter what, when I return you to your bright eyed friends you have to promise you’ll give it to me”. “ Oh thank you, so much umm.. I’m sorry I do not believe I’ve got your name?”. Isyla looked at her blankly with a mischievous grin. These Arkilontins were so gullible, “ No need for naming come, I sure there is a tunnel that will take us out of this..place”. Isyla walked slowly and then spotted a dark narrow hole quite a few feet away, “I found one, but we’ll have to walk for a while”. “ I do not mind” Melanie responded as if Isyla was asking.
There was a slight uproarious sound growing louder above them, Isyla heard it before her head started to quake with fear, it was the catchers if they made it to the tunnel before they shone the light on them they wouldn't be spotted. “Quick run, towards the tunnel as fast as you can '' Isyla shouted, Melanie started running after Isyla utterly confused as to why they were. The sound was so close that it was ear-piercing it meant they were right over head, a blue luminescent light shone onto the gravel pavement and a silhouette figure climbed done from a rope that seemed to be tied to one of the foggy clouds, the figure started to chase after the light which Melanie was starting to emit more clearly. “ Run Melanie!” screamed Isyla, they were just about two houses away from the entrance of the tunnel, Isyla ran ahead of Melanie not stopping to look back, she could only hear the extreme revolting shrill. Isyla finally made it to the tunnel she was about 3 meters in. “ We made it Melanie!” Isyla said expecting to hear the pretty prim proper voice of the bright girl questioning her as to why they were running, but nothing came. “Melanie..?” ,“Come on this is not Arkilon we do not play hide and seek here especially not at this age”. Just then a horrific scream came from the other end as well as a flicker of light. A billion questions ran through Isyla’s mind. Was that Melanie’s scream?, Had that alien like figure caught her and if so what had happened?. Isyla knew she could not go after no-one came back from the catchers.

Explanation on Climate Change
Climate Change is an ongoing problem we are faced with, and it's because of us that it has become such a huge concern.Climate Change is caused by humans abusing the use of fossil fuels, there are many types of fossil fuels, but they all lead to carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases being emitted into the atmosphere, when they are being burnt. The gases which then are released trap heat in our atmosphere which can then have a range of negative effects on our ecosystem and environment ,this includes sea levels starting to rise, extreme weather affecting everyone globally, droughts in place that are usually dry or have hot or humid weather, these droughts will then get worse by leaving these places prone to wildfires.
Many people today do not seem to realize the major effects climate change has on us. One of the effects even happened and is still taking place in New Zealand, the fox glaciers have been melting away ever since 1970 and it’s predicted that by the end of the 20th century they will be gone,if we do not start changing the amount of fossil fuels used and start using more renewable energy like solar electricity.Due to the influx on ice caps melting, sea level starts to rise which then causes the natural phenomenon of increase in tsunamis, king tides, much higher storm surges and floods all these things will mainly affect tropical areas, not only will sea level rise affect tropical areas, but coastlines around the world will continue to move forward and occupy more and more space.
Climate change has also been associated with extreme weather conditions, such as hurricanes, immense heat waves, tornadoes and much more.Studies have shown that climate change had influenced Hurricane Harvey and the 2003 European heat wave. Not only can these extreme weather events events have fatal consequences, that then leads to quite a number of injuries or lives lost and waterborne disease, such as dermatitis(a type of eczema, that causes itchy rashes which sometimes has fluid come out of it when scratched)or conjunctivitis(pink eye).
Droughts have been and is one of the most known climate change effects. Warmer temperatures enhance the evaporation process and less precipitation would be taking place, crops could die, economic losses, conflicts due to the fact that there is not enough water, more people have higher risk of heat strokes, and overall there is a high chance of human lives being affected.Another main effect droughts have are wildfires, millions of forests acres and homes have been lost in these wildfires,an example of this is in Australia earlier in the year. Wildlife, people, and fluorescent forests have been greatly affected in a negative way.
It may be concluded that climate change is definitely one of the world's first world problems and it starts with us to make a change.Climate Change is not something that should be overlooked, start by using more renewable energy and instead of using vehicles that use petrol, start riding bicycles or instead using one car take the bus, this small change could help us clear our atmosphere and we could make our environment much more sustainable to live in,because I’m sure we do not want to be wearing masks that connect to oxygen pumps, and carry that around everywhere we go,although that seems to be the case in the very near future if we do not act now.
